Hey awesome people!
Today’s food blog covers a restaurant called Gourmet Malaysia in Scarborough. This restaurant has cuisine from Malaysia as the name implies as well as Indonesia and Singapore. On the plus, it’s all halal!
We went to this restaurant before the Covid-19 pandemic had hit Canada and when dining-in was allowed. This was around mid-March of 2020 on a Friday and after this day everything got intense. From restaurant closures to gyms and mosques and temples being closed. I truly hope all goes back to normal and pray for everyone and their well-being.
On a brighter note, Gourmet Malaysia reminded me of my visit to Indonesia, about a few years ago. It was a great experience and I hope to go back one day and make vlogs for you guys!
Here are some pictures of my time there!
Jumping back to the restaurant, you must get this super delicious drink that I had to the first time. It’s a cold drink with rice flour jelly and coconut milk 🥛 so gooood! It’s called Cendol and very popular in Indonesia!
Aside from that! You can’t forget the classic chicken satay with the peanut sauce. I remember having loads of these in Indonesia.
Other than that, my friend Anish ordered a pineapple shrimp fried rice and I got this chicken noodle curry dish with tons of peppers! 🫑 🌶 The food was tasty and the customer service was great. You also have a lot of dining room and can probably book the space for a special event.
Check out this place and let me know what you think. Also please do recommend your favourite food spots in Toronto and the GTA.
